Took my Blazer in for an oil change. Took about an hour which is fine. Talked to the owner for about 30 minutes. Nice guy and personable. Told him of my experiences with all of the garages that have screwed me since I moved to FW. Told him that I was a reasonable man and that if I am treated right, I would be an honest and fair customer. Told him that I hoped his shop was a cut above the rest. He assured me that they were a reputable business with experienced mechanics. At this point, I am pleased with my treatment at Ed's and will go back for my car care needs. Update as of 4/2020. Ed's gave me a list of all the "problems" my vehicle had. It was a part of their "30 something multi-point inspection process." Took the list to my regular mechanic and found that many of the "problems" were not "problems" at all and needed no attention. Not sure what Ed's Car Care's intentions were but it appears that upcharge is one way they make money. I was hoping to find a shop a little closer to home to have the service work done to my vehicle so, as for now, I am going back to my old mechanic, Best One Tire in Monroe, IN, I use back home where I grew up. Might be farther for me to travel for auto repairs but at least they treat me right and charge a fair price.
